COMMUNICATIONCommunication is a process of transferring information from one entity to another. Communication may commonly be recognised as 'the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs'. It has been identified that there are three major parts that convey meaning in human face to face communication; body language, voice tonality, and words. Conducted research has shown that 55% of the time a listener will rely on what has been said by the speaker's body language-posture, gesture and eye contact. This gives argument that non-verbal communication is relied on more heavily than verbal communication. Non-verbal communication is the process of communicating through sending and receiving wordless messges. Such messages can be communicated through gesture, body language, facial expression and eye contact; object communication such as clothing, hairstyles or even architecture, or symbols and infographics, as well as through an aggregrate of the above, such as behavioural communication. Non-verbal communication plays a key role in every person's day to day life. |
