Lynne Kendall - Chairperson
Lynne Kendall has been the chairperson of Community Connection for over 6 years. She has a background in nursing and early childhood education and was the Director of a community based child care centre for 14 years. Her work on Community Connection’s behalf is informed by her lived experience of disability through support to her daughter.
Tara Cordwell - Secretary
Hi, I'm Tara Cordwell and I have been involved with Community Connection since 1999. I began as a regular Committee member and accepted the position of Secretary in 2003.
Over the last twelve years I have worked in a variety of community based and government services supporting people with disabilities. I have a strong commitment to the values that underpin Community Connection and to ensuring that the people supported receive the best possible service.
In April 2007 I moved to Innisfail to manage a respite service for families supporting a member with a disability. Luckily, I will be coming to Townsville regularly and I am in a position to continue in my role with Community
Greg Exelby - Treasurer
Our son Scott has been receiving support from Community Connection Inc. since 1993. When invited to join Management Committee as Treasurer, I was very pleased to be able to repay the Organisation for the tremendous support which they have provided for our family. My background of management and planning skills was developed through twenty-eight years as a principal of schools. Having owned my own Bookkeeping business has also developed my capacity to successfully fulfill my role as Treasurer. I see my role as one of assisting in the continued improvement and development of programs provided by Community Connection Inc.
Bronwyn Tanner - Committee Member
Bronwyn grew up in Townsville and recently returned here in 2006 to live with her husband David. She trained as an Occupational Therapist and is currently working at James Cook University. Bronwyn has both a personal and professional interest in the lives of people with a disability and is delighted to be involved with Community Connection.
